Bishop Services: Wed. Jan 4, 1:30 p.m. Services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., for P. C. Bishop, who went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2005. Rev. Norman Piercy will officiate. P. C. Bishop was born on December 24, 1919, in Clinton, Arkansas. P. C. was the oldest of six brothers and sisters in Arkansas. He spent many years farming and doing various jobs. He married Mary Brown in 1938, and they had 11 children together. P.C. married Jimmie Louellen Holt in 1992 and acquired four step children. At last count P.C. had 27 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and 8 step grandchildren. He was a member of the Arvin Pentecostal Church of God. P.C. was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Wombles; granddaughter Suzanne Walch and great granddaughter Jaimie Emerson. He is survived by his wife, Jimmie L. Bishop of Bakersfield; daughters Winona Sanders of Missouri, Irene Bishop of Bakersfield, Melissa Bishop of Bakersfield, and Marsue Williams of Bakersfield; sons Doc Bishop of Lake Isabella, Leon Bishop of Bakersfield, Johnny Bishop of Colorado, Jimmy Bishop of Bakersfield, Gene Bishop and Kenneth Bishop both of Bakersfield; step-daughters Carol Meeks of Texas, Delois Eads of Bakersfield and Minnie Baxter of Whittier; and step son Jimmy Harbey of Bakersfield. P. C. had a great sense of humor, he loved music, antiques, and having coffee at the Scotsman Restaurant. Visitation begins Tuesday, 4:00 - 9:00 p. m.
