All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ca/cafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: K T bluewolf@onemain.com December 27, 2005, 5:55 pm The Bakersfield Californian Hanline, Hazel Bowen 1917 - 2005 Hazel Bowen Hanline Mar. 20, 1917 - Dec. 6, 2005 Hazel passed away peacefully on the 6th at 3:00 p.m. Visitation for Hazel Ruth Hanline will be held at the Mission Family Mortuary, 531 California Ave., Bakersfield, CA, on Friday, December 9th, from 5-8 p.m. Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday the 10th, 2005, at Mission. Hazel will be interred with her husband in Morrilton, Arkansas on the 14th. Hazel first left her familys home in Morrilton at age 16, and hitchhiked to Searcy, Arkansas, to attend Harding Christian High School, now Harding University. She graduated from there two years later. After graduation she returned home, where she met and married Argus Murriel Bowen of Clarksville, Ark. in 1937. They had the familys first grandchildren, Morris Ray in 1938. In 1941 Murriel left to work in California followed later by Hazel and Morris. In 1943 their second son, Hubert, was born in Los Angeles. After the war they moved to Lompoc, CA and then to Bakersfield in 1952. Murriel passed away in 1956. Hazel was married to George Haggard in 1959, who passed away in 1970. She married Bill Hanline in 1972, and Bill passed away in 1996. Hazels entire life was dedicated to her family and the Church of Christ. Ever loyal to her family, friends and church, ever faithful to her beliefs. Everything Hazel did in her life stressed these two tenants. Hazel is survived by her two sons, Morris and wife, Charyle, Hubert (Hub) and wife, Gail; five grandchildren, Regina and husband, Jay Ransom, Ronnie and husband, Ken Hart, Clark and wife, Janis, Christine and husband, Rick Wilson of North Las Vegas, and Ruth Bowen Miles; 11 great- grandchildren, all of which survive except for beautiful Sarah. Hazel will be taken by her sons to Morrilton, Arkansas, where she will be interred with her husband, Murriel, on the 14th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oildale Church of Christ, 2912 North Chester, Oildale, CA 93308.
