Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 9, at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, at New Life Community Church in Pismo Beach. Lois was born August 25, 1929, in Hanford to Lossie Green Brooks and Gretchen Louise Mitchell Brooks. Lois played a vital role in helping her husband build and maintain a successful oil-related business. The things she valued most were loving and caring for her family and serving her Lord. Her service included teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, singing solos in church, and being active in womens ministry. Serving God with a whole heart each and every day was a way of life. Her faith and trust in her Lord carried her through the difficult times and the joy of the Lord was her strength. She is now experiencing her deepest hearts desire. She is home with her Lord and Savior. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:28-31 Lois leaves behind to cherish her memory, Bill, her faithful husband of 56 years, who diligently cared for her until the time of her home-going. She also leaves behind her son, Stephen W. Brooks and wife, Earlene, and their grown children, Justin W. Brooks and Jessica R. Brooks; daughter, Jenise D. Paine and husband, Rod, along with their adult sons, R. Scott, Mark W. and David J. Paine; two brothers, Dale and Don Brooks and their families; and many other family and friends. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach. Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel Legacy.com Published in the Bakersfield Californian on 10/7/2005.
