Audrey Lucille Buckler 
Aug. 8, 1920 - Jan. 11, 2006 

Visitation for Audrey Lucille Smith Buckler will be held at Basham Funeral 
Care (3312 Niles Street) on Monday, January 16, 2005 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. 
Funeral services will be held in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel on Tuesday 
afternoon, January 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private at Golden 
Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, California. Audrey Lucille Smith Buckler 
was born in Alma Arkansas on August 8, 1920 to Wesley and Minnie Young. She 
passed away on January 11, 2006 in Shafter, California after a brief stay at 
the Shafter Convalescent Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, 
James Buckler; parents, Wesley and Minnie Mae Young; son, Don Smith; daughter, 
Joy Lucille "Sissy" Smith and brothers, Walter Young, Bill Young and J.T. 
Young. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Michael Orr 
of Syracuse, Utah; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Kathy Smith of Salem, 
Oregon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wesley and Ruth Young, James and Ruth 
Young and Hughey and Adelle Young; 8 grandchildren and numerous great-
grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In her early years, Audrey grew up 
in Shamrock, Texas just off Route 66. After World War II, she and her family 
moved to Greenfield, California where she operated a beauty shop. She later 
moved to the Oakland area and then Nevada before returning to Bakersfield. 
Audrey has many friends and particularly enjoyed attending church. She was a 
very giving person who spent most of her life in occupations that helped
