Bumert, Gaida    
 
Gaida was born in Saldus, Latvia on February 13, 1919. She immigrated to 
America in 1950 with her mother, husband, and four children. The family was 
sponsored by Rev. Jagels of St. John's Lutheran Church. She began her life in 
America in Pumpkin Center. She and her husband, Ernest, later bought a house 
in Bakersfield, where she lived the rest of her life. Gaida was loved and 
respected by all who knew her. She is survived by her four sons, John, Peter, 
Martin and Andrew; her three daughters, Mara, Carmen and Annie; and numerous 
grand and great-grandchildren. Our special thanks to the loving care she 
received from Hoffmann Hospice, especially Felicia, Aubrey, Angelo and Maria. 
Mom, we'll miss you! Gaida Bumert Feb. 13, 1919 - Mar. 21, 2006
