Drake was born May 24, I976, in Bakersfield to parents Gary and Thelma Burgeis. He lived his entire life in Tehachapi where he attended local schools, graduating from Tehachapi High School in 1995. Drake loved participating in youth wrestling and later, he helped coached his young brother-in-law on the high school wrestling team. Drake married JoDee Collins on Aug. 21, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nev. He was employed as a wind turbine technician at Enxco at the time of his death. Drake enjoyed riding his quad, family camping and water skiing at Lake Success. He was known to be honest and hard working and very dependable and caring. Whenever work was to be done, Drake was always there. In many ways, he was the perfect son. He was a family man, very proud of all of his family and a wonderful Dad. He deeply loved his little girls. He was a good friend always willing to help others in need in any situation. It is safe to say that to know Drake was to love Drake. He will be greatly missed. Drake is survived by his wife, JoDee Burgeis; daughters, Madison and Kristen; parents, Gary and Thelma Burgeis; brother, Joe Wooley, all of Tehachapi; grandparents, Bob and Betty Burgeis, of Tehachapi, and Louise Mahich, of Lake Isabella; great-grandmother, Ila Yribarren, of Bakersfield; in-laws, Dennis and Bonnie Collins; brothers-in-law, Doyle and Darren Collins, all of Tehachapi; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Dr. Marvin Slifer officiated at the service. Interment followed at Tehachapi Public, Cemetery, Westside. the arrangements. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
