Gene Richard Bussell 
Services: Sat., Feb. 18, 9:00 a.m. 

A chapel service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2006, 9:00 a.m., at 
Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd. Interment will follow. Also known 
as Gene Buzz Bussell or Nitro Buzz to his racing buddies, passed away 
peacefully on February 10, 2006. Gene was born December 26, 1939 at Miss 
Freises Maternity Home in Bakersfield, CA, to father, James Edward Bussell Jr. 
and mother, Edna Mae Burrage. He graduated in 1959 with his sister, Carol 
Elaine Bussell from Bakersfield High School. He married Merry Barbara Ewert 
August 29, 1962 and had their first child Robert Allen Bussell on March 7, 
1967 born in Pasadena, CA and had their second child Richard Edward Bussell on 
July 10, 1968 in Arcadia CA. He moved to San Diego, CA in 1974 to work for 
Langley Corporation where he made equipment for the NASA moon trips and the 
Space Shuttles. His favorite hobbies were radio controlled boats and NASCAR. 
He last moved to Meadview, Arizona in 1997 to take care of his mother and 
stepfather, Jack Wagstaff. He is survived by his mother, Edna and sister, 
Carol; sons, Robert Bussell and Richard Bussell; grandsons, Thomas Bussell and 
Sean Bussell; granddaughter, Candice Bussell; great-grandson, Landon Bussell; 
nephew, Russ Foresman; niece, Pam Aguilar; 4 grandnieces and 2 grandnephews. 
He was very well loved by all his family members and the community and surely 
will be missed. Visitation will be held Friday, February 17th, from 1:30 p.m. 
to 9:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Mortuary.
