James Lee Badgley

James Lee Badgley, 69, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, 
June 8, 2005, at Rosewood Health Center. A native of Springfield, Ohio, born 
February 24, 1936, he was the son of Geraldine and Jim Owens. Jim was a 
competitive athlete in track, basketball, football and tennis in his younger 
years, concentrating later on the game of golf. He loved animals and for many 
years trained and showed dogs, especially German Shepherds. His career 
centered on 30 years in industrial pump sales and management. Jims recent 
memberships included St. Johns Lutheran Church, Stockdale Country Club and 
CSUB Roadrunner Club. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Wanda; daughter 
Robin and husband Gary Owens of Vacaville; daughter Becky and husband George 
Mendez of Escondido. His grandchildren are Kevin, Matt, and Tim Owens and 
Rigo, Leyla, Mario and Olivia Mendez. He has 2 great-grandchildren, Marcus and 
Bella. The family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Health Center for 
their seven years of excellent care and for the prior attention given at his 
home by caregiver, Adriana Whited. A memorial service will be held at St. 
Johns Lutheran Church, Saturday, June 18, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of 
flowers, the family requests donations to St. Johns Lutheran Church, 4500 
Buena Vista Road, Bakersfield, CA 93311 or the Alzheimers Disease Association 
of Kern Co., 5500 Olive Drive, Bakersfield, CA 93308.
