On April 30, 2005, Renee lost her courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, on Saturday, May 7th, at 11:00 a.m. Renee was born on September 11, 1951, in Alameda, California, to Forrest Otis Baker and Geraldine Ruth Baker. She is preceded in death by her loving father, Forrest; her brother, Sonny; and survived by her devoted mother, Geraldine. Her previous 19-year marriage to her childhood sweetheart produced her three surviving children, Regina Mooney, Reagan Bryan and Reed Capps. Her sisters, Nicole Baker, Helen Fecke, and grandchildren, Dylan Mooney, Hunter Mooney, and Chandler Capps also survive her. We would be remiss if we did not mention her surviving family at Texaco/Equilon/Shell Oil Refinery. Renee spent 17 years with this wonderful extended family. During her time there she chaired numerous charitable events including United Way Day of Caring, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Epilepsy Society Mud Volleyball, and was a member of the Refinery Volunteer Fire Brigade. Renee was passionate about her family, friends, and her beautiful home and yard. She is best remembered for her exceptional warmth, her vibrant personality, sense of humor, and never-ending hospitality. She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by friends and family while preparing one of her famous home-cooked meals. Renees relationship with Jehovah God began with her baptism in 1969. Renee held on to and found comfort in her spiritual beliefs until her untimely passing. Her ultimate goal was to start her own bereavement business to provide comfort and service to families facing the same hardship we find ourselves in today. At the time of her fathers death, Renee realized the need for assistance to families in mourning. With her compassionate heart, Renee knew she could help ease the burden for families in their time of greatest need. We can all only hope to exhibit the same strength, style and incredible spirit in life as Renee did in death. Heartfelt thanks to Renees wonderful friends, Sandy Blanquette, Connie Selgrath, Rusty Ladd, BJ Weidinger, Jo Enderle, and Sharon Swanson for their love and support. We would also like to thank Hoffman Hospice for their caring services. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made for the education and benefit of Renees little sister, Nicole D. Baker to any Citibank location. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
