Leona Valentine 
Services: Wed., May 25, 10:30 a.m. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at 10:30 a.m., at 
Columbus Street Baptist Church, for Leona D. Valentine, who died peacefully at 
her home on May 20th. Inerment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Leona was 
born in Watts, Oklahoma, to Jay and Erba Beach on June 22, 1918. The oldest of 
five children, her brothers were Ray, Odell, Marion and Glenn. Her mother died 
when Leona was only 10 years old. Leona worked for Montgomery Ward, retiring 
after 32 years. For several years she was a volunteer for Memorial Hospital 
Auxiliary and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church. Surviviors 
include her husband, L.B. Valentine; nephews, Larry and Gary Beach; and the 
Lorring Valentine family. Pallbearers will be Jerry Thompson, Pete Loveless, 
Martin Valentine, Gary Valentine, Tommy Valentine and Brook Freidt. Leonas 
husband would like to thank Dr. Jeff Freesemann, Dr. Shawn Shambaugh, Hoffmann 
Hospice, especially Pastor Jack Taylor, Jennifer and Jeanette for their loving 
care, her friends at Columbus Street Baptist Church for their prayers, cards 
and food, and all the staff at Doughty-Calhoun-OMeara. Visitation is scheduled 
Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
