Pastor Jack Taylor and Kern County Veterans Association will officiate. Mr. Beals was born on April 22, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York and resided in Kern County for 13 years. He was an inspector for 29 years with the U. S. Government Naval Shipyards. Mr. Beals was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion in New York Post #632. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Carmen Beals; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Beals and John Derkee of San Diego; daughter, Karen Elderman of Lakewood, CA; step-daughter, Carmen Hernandez and husband, Steven of Palmdale; step-son, Andres Barragan and wife, Emma of Bakersfield; step-daughter, Aurora Alcala of Bakersfield; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Casketbearers will be Steve Hernandez, Steve Hernandez, Jr., Andres Barragan, James Beals, Brian Beals and Daniel Juarez.
