Esther Alma Betty Williams

3/12/1915 - 3/12/2005



Born to Edward G. and Alma Looise Betty in Strong City, Kansas. She graduated 

in 1932 from Rawlins High in Wyoming. She arrived in Bakersfield in 1941. 

During the war she made airplane and submarine parts. She worked for the 

county Welfare Dept. where she retired in 1974. Esther was very independent 

and enjoyed helping other people. Whether she was helping adults learn to read 

or helping out neighbors, she made friends wherever she went. She loved 

golfing, gardening, and barbecuing with friends. 



She is survived by her cousins, Pearl L. Griffith of CA, Robert J. Hunt of 

Nebraska, Paula C. Maybell of Hawaii; stepdaughter, Barbara Jo Miller of 

Texas, and faithful companion, Dusty.



Special thanks to the Prestage family for their loving care and support. A 

barbecue will be held to celebrate her life. She was laid to rest on March 22, 

2005.
