Rosie L. Billingsley 
Services: Sat., Aug. 27, 11:00 a.m. 

Visitation begins Friday, August 26th, 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. with an hour of 
meditation to be held tonight from 7-8 p.m. In the Jesse E. Cooley, Jr. Chapel 
for Rosie L. Billingsley, 80, who passed away August 21, 2005. Services will 
be held Saturday, August 27th, 11:00 a.m., at St. John Missionary Baptist 
Church, 1300 E. Brundage Lane. Rev. Tyree Douglas Toliver will officiate. 
Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. Rosie Lee was born April 23, 1925, in 
Leland, Mississippi and had resided in Bakersfield for 44 years. Rosie was 
united in Holy Matrimony with O.W. Billingsley Sr. for 56 years and to this 
union seven children were born. Rosie Lee was a very devoted wife, mother, 
grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Rosie is 
survived by her beloved husband, O.W. Sr.; sons, Donnell (Sandra) and Robert 
(Dorothy) Billingsley; daughters, Marjorie Billingsley (Carlos) Smith, Joann 
Billingsley (Bruce) Hodges and Barbara Billingsley (Dave) Weston, all of 
Bakersfield; 12 grandchildren and eight-grandchildren; brothers, Herman 
(Kitty) Amos, and Taylor (Juanita) Amos; sisters, Lula Amos, Willie Mae 
McDaniel, Margaret Jones and Beatrice River; many nieces, nephews, special 
friends and a host of relatives and friends.
