When she was five years- old, William, Annie, their seven children and other family members, moved from the Dust Bowl of Oklahoma to Weedpatch, California in search of a better life. Although it was a harsh struggle, it turned out to be the right move. Frances was very proud of her heritage as one of the many children of the Dust Bowl. Frances worked at Scherb-Moore Clinic for many years while she raised three children. While working at the clinic she met a charming young man named Charles Davis who later became her husband. Charles and Frances recently celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary. As a couple they shared a unique relationship. They enjoyed fun times, travel and gatherings with family and friends. She told us many times how happy she was. After her children were grown Frances was able to return to school and realize her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. She worked for over a decade in several area hospitals before retirement. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Marie, Mary, Velma and Elva and her brother, Bill. She is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters and sons-in-law, Paulette and Bruce Elliott, Kathy and Lloyd Gentry; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Monique Weese and her brother, Calvin. Her proudest accomplishment in life is being a Grandma to Larry Smith, Paul Smith, Rod Gentry, Mark Gentry, Christy Hynds, Rene Bentz and her favorite 5 year- old, Steven Weese. Her grandchildren range in age from 5 to 38 and gave her much joy and happiness. They learned the meaning of infectious laughter from their Grandma. She is also Sweet Great-Grandma to Ryan Smith, Adam Smith, Ashley, Austin and Aaron Hynds, Danielle Hernandez, Andrew and Faith Bentz, as well as other great-grandchildren. Frances became ill and passed quickly from this life to eternal life with our loving Heavenly Father. Her faith and trust in Jesus Christ as her Savior is the cherished legacy that she has passed on to her children and grandchildren. Although we will miss her terribly and all of our hearts ache at the thought of being without her, we take comfort in knowing that is only for a short time. Five year-old Steven put it best when he said to his Mom, Grandma is in Heaven with Jesus now, just like you and Daddy will be there before I get there. What a Wonderful Promise we have (John 3:16) We Love You Mom!
