Joshua was born Oct. 21, 1979 in Bakersfield. He moved with his family to Tehachapi in 1987 where he attended local schools, graduating from Tehachapi High School in 1998. Joshua was very active in Tehachapi sports, receiving the nickname “Little Big Man” during his days in youth football. He was small in stature, but had a big, big heart. He was also a Warrior wrestler for three years. Joshua was an avid fisherman, loved camping and just being outdoors. He was a dedicated college football fan and shared his enthusiasm with his dad on many occasions. At the age of 20, Joshua entered into the United States Air Force. At the time of his death, he was serving as an F-15 Support System Specialist for the 19th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Pacific Air Forces, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother and father. Joshua is survived by his wife, Samantha Booker; son, Colin; and daughter, Corrin, all of Bakersfield; parents, Kenneth and Minnie Booker; brothers, Michael Booker and his wife Jenny, and Nicholas Booker and his wife Kayla; sister, Karrie Anne Booker, all of Tehachapi; grandparents, Oscar and Alberta Procell of Taft; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends. Minister T.C. Robinson officiated at the service. Interment followed at Tehachapi Public Cemetery, Eastside with Chaplain Gregory Brunson officiating. The Blue Angels served as the Honor Guard. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
