Michael Braun will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd. Bette was an angel who loved life and family. Two of her greatest joys were living in the mountains and crafting. Bette was born in Wasco, CA in a Kern County Land Company ranch house to her beloved parents Pierre Borderre and Antonia Chavez Borderre. Pierre migrated from Urepel, France as a sheepherder and her mother was a 3rd generation Californian from family that migrated from Spain. Bette was a native Californian and of strong faithful stock. Bette married Daniel Aughinbaugh in 1946. They were first married by Judge Frank Noriega in his chambers on Sumner Street. They renewed their vows at St. Josephs Church in Avenal, CA where they lived until moving to Bakersfield. Bette was a girl scout leader and worked as a secretary to a ships captain in Oakland during World War II. She worked for a short time at the Posey Post Office near Jack Ranch Resort. Bette is survived by her husband Daniel Augie Aughinbaugh; daughters, Cecilia Bishop and Christy Horne. She leaves grandsons Shawn Bishop and wife, Kelly, Todd Bishop and wife Becci, Joshua Ralls and wife Renee. She leaves great- grandchildren, Ryan and Emily Bishop, Gage and Gambull Andrews, Miranda Valverde, Baby Bishop and Baby Ralls; sons-in-law, Sam Ralls, Danny Bishop and Ken Horne. Bette was 91 years young, a loving wife and mother. We will love Bette our whole lives, we give the Lord thanks for the gift He gave us in her. The family wishes to thank Dr. Frank Chang and the staff at Mercy Hospital for their care of our mom. Flowers will be accepted or if you wish to make donations in Bettes name please send to the Alzheimers Disease Association of Kern County, 5500 Olive Dr., Bakersfield, Ca 93308.
