Wilke at Westside Cemetery in Taft, CA at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2005. A gathering will follow in Bakersfield at 2:00 p.m. at the home of her grandson, Thomas Kaufman. Margaret was born in Maricopa, CA, the daughter of Andrew Hugh Bradley and Martha Marie Buchheister and passed away in Bakersfield. She attended school in Maricopa and St. Johns Academy in Fresno. She was the co-owner of Bradley Hardware for 40 years as well as Marjon and Associates and was very involved in local activities in Maricopa. She also taught ceramics, china painting and lace draping for many years. She was a member of the Maricopa Womens Club since its inception, a member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West (Miocene Parlor), the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce, Ave Maria Institute of the Y.L.I. and a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Rapid City, South Dakota and the Cathedral Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She also attended the Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. She is survived by her sons, John W. Wilke II of Cuyama Valley, Ca and Rev. Peter B. Wilke of Denver, Colorado; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter and a son. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established and may be sent to 1812 1st Street, Bakersfield, CA 93304.
