Rev. Scott Pearson, pastor of First Baptist Church will officiate. Private burial will be in the West Side District Cemetery. Kathy was born in Missouri to parents, Joseph and Minnie Bramwell, on February 19, 1921 and passed away July 17, 2005, in her sleep at her Taft home. She had lived in Taft since 1940. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and served on the churchs bereavement committee and was a church greeter. Kathy appreciated the trips she took with the West Kern Oil Museum. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.B. Sweaney and her son, Randy G. Sweaney. Her survivors include her children and their spouses, Gary, Judy and Bob Hall, Stan and Pam, Tim and Rita, Greg, Jeff and Michelle and Scott; her sister, Lucille Sweaney; as well as 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her close friend, Lee Sampley, her many friends, her church family at First Baptist Church and her relatives. Kathy enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, family activities, serving her church and relaxing with her close friend, Lee Sampley. No visitation hours are scheduled and the service is under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home (661) 765-4111.
