He is survived by his parents, Greg and Eva Brannstrom; brother, Jeff Brannstrom; sister, Sarah Brannstrom; paternal grandmother, Gerd Brannstrom; maternal grandparents, Tor and Vera Holmberg; aunt, Marie Hansson; aunt and uncle, Catharina Brannstrom and Kenneth Ohman; uncle and aunt, Anders and Eva Holmberg; uncle and aunt, Hakan Holmberg and Kina Langbacka as well as numerous cousins, other family members and friends. Marcus was born in Bakersfield on October 9, 1983 and he passed away June 27, 2005 in Bakersfield. He graduated from Centennial High School in 2002. Marcus played ice hockey for the Bakersfield Dragons for five years. After graduating from high school, Marcus went to Sweden for a year to go to school and play hockey. He also wanted to spend more time with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins there. When he came back, he started school at Chico State University. His major was Construction Management. He was also a member of Chico State Wildcat Roller Hockey Team. Marcus had such a fun-loving and caring personality. He always cared a lot for his family and friends and he had a soft-spot for animals. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed ice hockey, snowboarding, skateboarding, mountain biking and going fishing with his friends. He was loved by all that knew him and he will be greatly missed.
