Braun, 46, of Santa Margarita, died, May 2, 2005. Marlene worked for the Bureau of Land Management for the states of Alaska, Nevada and California and recently she worked as the Manager for the Carrizo Plains National Monument. Marlene was a lover of the land and a protector of the environment. She over the years cherished many animals. Marlene was a Geo Chemist and received her Masters from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her BS Degree from the University of California at Riverside. While serving in the U.S. Army she received the rank of Sergeant. Her mother Rita R. Braun; sisters, Judy A. Snell and Phyllis A. Braun, survive Marlene. Also brother, Marc L. Braun and wife, Jane; 4 nephews and 1 niece; 1 great niece; friend, Kathy Hermes and many others that were close to her.
