Marian Bruce 
Services: Fri., July 1, 11:00 a.m. 

Marian Bruce, 98, of Oceano and formerly of Bakersfield, passed away Saturday, 
June 25, 2005. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 1, 
at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Bakersfield. Marian was born February 15, 1907, 
in Marion, Ohio, and was a resident of Bakersfield from 1949 to 1999. She was 
a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bakersfield and also the 
Bakersfield Assistance League. She served as a gray lady at Kern General 
Hospital. Marian is survived by her daughter, Melinda Lovern; grandchildren, 
Tye Lovern and wife, Mary Ann, and Tommi Frearson and husband, Jim; and great-
grandchildren, Ali and Dylan Lovern, and Kelsea Frearson. She was preceded in 
death by her husband, Richard S. Bruce, in 1985. Arrangements are under the 
direction of Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach.
