Brian loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He was an active member of Bakersfield First Church of The Nazarene. He served as a church board member, a Sunday School teacher, vacation bible school director, small group leader and too many other ministries to mention. He will be missed by his Church family. Brian was an active member of the NRA, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Ducks Unlimited and the Wild Turkey Federation. Brian and his two children, Taylor and Jacob were members of the American Motorcycle Association, where they all raced together as Bum Racing in the Big 6 Series. Brian is survived by his loving wife, Gracie; daughter, Taylor; son, Jacob; sisters and brothers-in-law, LaGalla and Don Schroeder, Thresa and John Rosenow and Debbie and John Miller; father and mother-in-law, Lewis and Annie Ashmore; special nieces, Tara, Lori, Erin and Carly; special nephews, Jared and Cody; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and grandma, Mollie Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Wanda Bumgarner. Honoring Brian will be the following pallbearers: Tim Guinn, Dave Davison, Matt Morrow, Steve Fugate, Eric Greene, Irv Glenn, Tim Champness and Johnny Knox. Honorary pallbearers: Lupe Martinez and Robbie Sauer. Special thanks to Tim and Carrie Champness (Champs Bar-B-Q). In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund has been established for Brians children: Brian Bumgarner Memorial Fund, c/o San Joaquin Bank, 1301 17th St., Bakersfield, CA 93303.
