Born Esther Julia Burns on June 10, 1910 in Paradise, Texas she passed away on September 2, 2005 in Bakersfield, California. Esther is preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Tackett; second husband, Jay Lewis; infant son, Delbert; 8 brothers and 8 sisters. She is survived by her four sons and their spouses; Darrell and Karen Tackett, Robert and Janet Tackett, Dwight and Gloria Tackett, David and Anita Tackett; 9 grandsons; 5 granddaughters and 31 great grandchildren. Mother has been a Christian all of her life and she dearly loved the Lord. She was very active at Calvary Bible Church and she participated in The Mission Belles. Both of her grandfathers fought on the south side during the Civil War. She only saw the good in people. She was loved by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Brian Rush, Stacey Tackett, Shawn Tackett, Kent Tackett, Brett Tackett, Jerry Tackett, Robert Tackett, Michael Tackett and James Tackett.
