Donald Harry Cantrell 
Services:Thurs., Dec. 29, 10:00 a.m. 

Services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., for 
Donald Harry Cantrell, 73, who passed away December 24, 2005, in Bakersfield. 
Mr. Jerry Collins will officiate, and Kern County Veterans to have Military 
Honors. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Cantrell was 
born on August 3, 1932, in Bakersfield. He served with the U. S. Navy during 
the Korean War. While in the military he had an exhibition boxing round with 
Joe Louis. Mr. Cantrell played football in 1955 at Bakersfield College at the 
opening game of the new stadium. He was a member of the Stockdale Moose Lodge 
Chapter #1203. For the last 15 years his greatest his greatest love was salmon 
fishing in Oregon. Mr. Cantrell was preceded in death by his brother Richard. 
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jeanne Cantrell of Bakersfield; 
daughters and sons-in-law Jill and Chip Walls of Oregon, Leighann and Randy 
Spicer and Jodie and Hank Demarah all of Bakersfield and Tina and Paul Colton 
of Clovis; sons Scott Cantrell of Bakersfield and Shawn Cantrell of Oregon; 
grandsons Hunter Cotton, Carson Cotton and David Spicer; brother and sister-in-
law Ted and Pattie Cantrell of Bakersfield and many nieces and nephews and 
aunt Irene Rubin. Family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be 
made to the Bakersfield College Athletic Dept. Casketbearers will be Nelson 
Coble, Frank Ballew, Rick Wells, Tom Sprayberry, David Janes and Wes Bradford. 
Honorary casketbearers will be Gary Hackney, Harry Hankins, Gary Kennedy, Sam 
Waller, Pat Fautch and Bob Darling. No visitation is scheduled.
