Santiaga Castillo (Grandma Chaga Chocolate) 
June 9, 1930 - January 27, 2006 

Viewing will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 W. Lerdo Hwy., from 5-
8 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, January 30, 2006. Service will 
be on Tuesday, January 31, 2006, also at St. Therese Catholic Church, at 1:00 
p.m. Santiaga Castillo was born June 9, 1930, in Oguela Durango, Mexico, and 
passed away January 27, 2006, in Shafter, California. She moved to Shafter in 
1972. She had eight children, Agustina Filimon, Andrea, Jose, Louie, Maria, 
Sally and Lupe. She was a sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother 
and great-great-grandmother. Santiaga was preceded in death by her husband, 
Filimon Torres in May 1978; her daughter, Andrea Ruiz on July 14, 2005; and 
her son, Jose Angel Torres on December 31, 2005. She is survived by her 
children, Filimon, Louie, Maria, Sally and Lupe; 43 grandchildren, 50 great-
grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. We love her and she will be 
missed dearly. Kern River Family Mortuary-Oildale
