He died in the presence of family on October 13, 2005 at the age of 87. He served in the United States Army Anti-Aircraft unit in World War II. He retired from Carpentry at the age of 65 after 34 years of service but remained in the Union for over 50 years and continued to work repairing garden equipment until the age of 86. His hobby was working on lawnmowers and fixing most anything. Leroy was a friend to everyone and always had a smile on his face. He always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was eager to help people in any way he could. He worked hard his entire life to provide his family with everything they needed and more. We are certain he is happy to be reunited with his wife Glenda who he missed very much. He was a great Father, Grandfather, and Friend that we are all going to miss. Leroy was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Glenda Cates. His daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Eric Faller; his son and family, Keith, Karyn, Kymber, and Zac Cates; his son, Neil Cates; his brothers, Bill Cates and Vernon Hennesay; sister, Earlean Hennesay; and his sister-in-law Joanne Brunn survive him.
