William H. (Bill) Causey

William H. (Bill) Causey was born December 19, 1919, in North Carolina and 
passed away at his home in Bodfish, CA, on January 11, 2006, after a lengthy 
illness. He is survived by Jane, his wife of 59 years; sons, Gregg and Brian 
of Bakersfield and grandchildren, Dustin, Joshua and Amber in Alabama. Bill 
came to Bakersfield in the mid-1930s and moved to Wasco in 1965 due to a 
promotion in his career as a Customer Services Clerk with PG&E. He then 
retired to Bodfish in 1983 for a love of the mountains and outdoor activities. 
Bill voluntarily enlisted in the U.S. Army in May 1942 and was discharged in 
December 1945. He was an accomplished artist in painting with multiple media 
as well as both pencil and pen and ink drawings. He also enjoyed playing the 
guitar, fishing, hunting and target shooting as a long-standing member of the 
Kern River Valley Gun Association. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 
January 21, at 11:00 a.m., at Highland Chapel United Methodist Church, 5301 
Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella, CA 93240. In lieu of flowers, please make 
any donations to the church or to Hoffmann Hospice, 5300 California Ave., 
Suite 1, Bakersfield, CA 93309.
