Cepeda, 83, passed away October 11, 2005 (due to a short illness) surrounded by his children, family members, and friends. Raul was born Aug.14, 1922, to Librado and Maria Cepeda in Del Rio, Texas. He married Gloria Rodriguez in 1948 and they had four children. They enjoyed, traveling, baby- sitting their grandkids, the casinos, and most of all their Catholic faith. He was a member of St. Jude Church, where he loved playing the guitar in the church choir. He was loved by his family and all who knew him, he will be greatly missed. Raul was preceded in death by the love of his life Gloria Cepeda, his parents, his two brothers, and his four sisters. He is survived by his children, Molly Fuentez, Gloria Velasquez, Hilda Correa (Luis Zaragoza) , and Raul Cepeda Jr. Grandchildren, Charlette Zorrilla, Daniel Ramirez Jr., Michelle Romero (Benny), Michelle Zaragoza (Jesse), Annette Fuentez (Shaq) ,Juan Olivas, Dhanesa Ramirez (Adrian) , Gloria Blancarte ( Johnny), Jacqueline Medina, Stephanie Blancarte (Jose) , Jillian Medina, Hector Ramirez (Rachel), Natalia Blancarte (Bernie) , Cristal Ramirez ( Rudy), Raul Ramirez, 31 great-grandchildren, special niece Elsa Rocha (John), and Xena (spoiled dog). He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Hector Rodriguez, sisters-in- law, Alicia Ortega, Elida Tejeda (Alfonso), many nieces and nephews, and special friends. A special thanks to the paramedics, staff at KMC trauma unit, and the doctors and nurses in the ICU. Rosary at 6pm on Oct.17, Mass of Christian burial on Oct. 18 , at 10:30 am, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Juan Olivas, Hector Rodriguez, Santos Cepeda, Joe Garcia, Mario Rodriguez, and Hector Rodriguez Jr. Honorary pallbearers, Daniel Ramirez Jr. and Hector Ramirez.
