Virginia B. Chambers 
12/22/1918 - 1/1/2006 

Virginia (Ginny) was born in Patterson, California, and she grew up on her 
parents sheep and hay ranch in the hills east of the Napa Valley. Virginia was 
employed by Pacific Telephone for 32 years. She started as a telephone 
operator, and she was working in administration when she retired. Six years 
ago Virginia moved to Bakersfield so that she could be near her son. She was 
living at Kern Canyon Estates at the time of her death. She is survived by her 
son, Alvin Teixeira and his wife, Joan; a brother, Frank Borges and wife, 
Barbara of St. Helena; a sister, Beverly Borges of Rutherford; four grandsons; 
ten great-grandchildren; three nephews and four nieces. Visitation begins 
today Thursday, January 5th, from 4-8 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary; with 
services Friday, January 6th, 11:00 a.m., also at Hillcrest Memorial Park & 
Mortuary.
