King and Potomac St. Paul was born December 6, 1974 in Bakersfield, CA to Gilbert and Alvesa Chavez. He went home meet his Lord Friday, November 11, 2005. Paul graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1993 where he excelled in baseball, made lifelong friends, and acquired a passion for journalism. He took his writing skills to Bakersfield College and San Francisco State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in 2003. During his 30+ years with us on Earth, Paul crossed a variety of cultures, traveled thousands of miles across several states and countries, and touched countless lives. He took pleasure in rooting for the Dallas Cowboys, L.A. Lakers, and San Diego Padres, participating in Fantasy Sports Leagues, and listening to a blend of music that only he could truly appreciate. Above all, Pauls two most adored aspects of his life were his family and his faith. In San Francisco, he developed deep relationships with his family in faith at Temple United Methodist Church, as he grew in his faith and service to the Lord. His love for his family was also a key through which he drew his strength, both based on the endless amount of love he gave and was given in return. He always looked forward to holidays, vacations, and any occasion that gave him an opportunity to spend time with his family. He was an inspiration to us all, and through his steadfast faith and courage, we are able celebrate his life.
