Armando Ramos Cisneros

Feb. 6, 1931 – Oct. 23, 2005

Rosary was recited and a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, 
Oct. 29, at St. Malachy Catholic Church for Armando Ramos Cisneros, 74, who 
passed away Oct. 23 in a Bakersfield hospital.

Armando was born Feb. 3, 1931, in Tulare to Pedro and Aurora Cisneros. He 
worked as a superintendent of industry at California Correctional Institutions 
for 26 years, transferring to Tehachapi from the Chino facility in 1983. He 
married Martha O. Rios on June 26, 1984, in Los Angeles. Armando will long be 
remembered for his unique sense of humor. He loved to tell a good joke and 
enjoyed making you believe the unbelievable while always keeping a straight 
face. The phrase “whistling while you work” fit Armando, especially during his 
time at the Hospital Guild. Armando was also an active member of the Lions 
Club and a former member of the Tehachapi Moose Lodge.

Armando is survived by his loving wife, Martha Cisneros of Tehachapi; sons, 
Alexander Cisneros of San Luis Obispo and Daniel Cisneros of Tehachapi; 
daughters, Desiree Abel and her husband Eric of Torrance; Yvette Cisneros of 
Orange County; and Vanessa Cisneros of Tehachapi; grandchildren, Lauren, 
Alexandra, Lucas, Gabrielle and Vivian; brother, Camillo Cisneros of Texas; 
sisters, Anna Savedra, Chilla Zarate, Susie Chaidez and Vicki Alarcon; and 
numerous nieces and nephews.

Father Joel Davadilla officiated at the service. Wood Family Funeral Service 
handled the arrangements.
