Pastor Hector Rizo will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Clayton was born on November 21, 1919, in Yuma County, Arizona to Thurman Oliver and William Beatrice Prather. She moved to California at an early age and has resided in Bakersfield for over 80 years. She attended Mt. View School and Kern County Union High School. Mrs. Clayton was involved in restaurants for over 40 years, having worked for others and for the last five years was involved in her own restaurant business until retirement. She was preceded in death by her mother, William Beatrice Prather; father, Thurman Oliver Prather; first husband, William Lay; second husband, William Clayton; sister, Juanita Shofner; and brother, Tony Prather. She is survived by sons, William, Duane and his wife, Diann; granddaughter, Dalena Eurto and her husband, Wade; grandson, Jeffrey Lay and his wife, Delaine; great-grandsons, Kyle and Kody Eurto; great-granddaughters, Zaira and Sammi Lay, all of Bakersfield; brother, Howard Prather of Bakersfield; sister, Eugenia Stewart of Lake Isabella as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her long time doctor and friend, Yeh Cheng-Tsung and his staff and to the staff and nurses at Memorial Hospital. Casketbearers will be Wade Eurto, Kyle Eurto, Darin Eurto, Fred Shofner, Dale Duvall and Terry Kennedy.
