Connie Lee Francis Cleveland, 32, died at Kern Medical Center at 6:51 p.m. after a traffic collision on Highway 184 in southeast Bakersfield, according to a coroner's news release. Around 4:25 p.m., Cleveland was trying to make a U-turn in a Ford Ranchero near Dublin Lane when a Ford pickup hit her broadside, according to coroner's officials. The driver who hit Cleveland, 22-year-old Michael Peter Moltz of Bakersfield, wasn't able to avoid her, according to a release from the California Highway Patrol. Moltz wasn't hurt.
