Verne Ray Coats 
Services: Fri., Oct. 21, 11:00 a.m. 

Verne Ray Coats, 72, of Katy, Texas, passed away Monday, October 17, 2005. 
Verne was a petroleum engineer traveling the world over, for the oil and gas 
industry for over 50 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Bette Barrett 
Coats; his sons, Tobin R. Coats and Patrick D. Coats; his daughter, Jodi C. 
Feeney; five grandchildren, Robbie, Zachary, Jordan, Madison and Caleb; and 
his brother, Robert L. Coats. He was preceded in death by his parents, Verne 
Robert and Grace Pauline C. Coats. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. 
Friday at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy, Texas, with Rev. Tom Bolin 
officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Judes Childrens Research 
Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
