Pastor Curtis McDonald will officiate. Mrs. Ybarra was born in Denlow, Missouri and had lived in California for 67 years. She passed away in a Bakersfield hospital on October 31, 2005. She attended East Bakersfield High School. She married Merlin Coats and had a son, Randy Coats. She worked at Smart & Final for many years and later married Joe Ybarra and had two more children, Tony Ybarra and Melinda Ybarra Truax. Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper for many years for her family at Mears Furniture Store, Mears Auto Parts and retired from Luttrell’s Auto Parts in Lamont, California. Evelyn was always willing to help her friends and family and others less fortunate than herself. She loved life, Gospel and country music and dancing. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a great joy in her life. She will be forever in our hearts and missed by her family and friends. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Gerry Truax of Edmonds, Washington; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Bonnie Coats and Tony and Dora Ybarra all of Bakersfield; brother and sisters-in-law, Lowell and Joan Luttrell and Leland and Carolyn Luttrell; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Wendell Wolfe of Bakersfield; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Steven and Michael Coats and David and Christopher Ybarra; her cousins, Larry Meredith and Phillip Luttrell. She was loved by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society.
