Irene Ethel Coburn 
Aug. 12, 1908 - Feb. 7, 2006 

Irene Ethel Coburn, 97, a resident of Bakersfield, died peacefully in her 
sleep on Tuesday, February 7, 2006. Irene was born on August 12, 1908, in 
LaCross, Wisconsin to Frank and Augusta Neumann. She had a brother, Lester 
Neumann; sister, Doris Wagner and stepbrother, Herbert Meyers who preceded her 
in death. Irene was preceded in death by her son, Harold Coburn, who passed 
away at the age of 23. Irene lived in Long Beach for 35 years before moving to 
Bakersfield in 1999. She leaves behind to cherish her memory three nieces, 
Carol Hughes, Marilyn Weiz and Debbie Oeschler; nephew, Gary Wagner; and 
brother-in-law, Phil Wagner. Other friends who were very special to her and 
became her second family were Marilyn Wilson, Marion Bogle, Carol Bauer and 
Betty Morris. Those who called her Grandma Irene were Chris and Holly Wilson 
and son, Alex, Joe and Lisa Cooper and children, Jaelyn, Joey, Chance and 
Cade. A memorial service will be held at Lutheran Church of Prayer, 8001 
Panorama Drive, on Saturday, February 11th, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, 
memorial gifts may be given to Lutheran Church of Prayer.
