Larry Eugene Cook 
Sept. 17, 1948 - Dec. 20, 2005 
Services: Fri., Dec. 23, 11:00 a.m. 

Services will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 601 
Deseret Way, Friday at 11:00 a.m. for Larry Eugene, Cook, 57, of Bakersfield, 
who passed away December 20, 2005 in Bakersfield. Bishop James Slaughter will 
officiate and interment will follow in Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 
Panama Lane. Mr. Cook was born in Joplin, Missouri on September 17, 1948 and 
had been a resident of Bakersfield for 53 years. He served four years in the 
U. S. Air Force and graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 
Political Science. He had been a Kern County Deputy Sheriff for 25 years. 
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Claudia; daughters, Kristi and 
husband, Sam Aunai, Amy and husband, Earl Ellis, Shelby and husband, David 
Clark, and Ashley Cook; five grandchildren, Lindsi, Isaac, Allison, Tyrus and 
Preston; parents, Frank and Wilma Byrd; brother, Danny Cook; sister, Robin 
Elliott; and numerous nieces and nephews. Casketbearers will be Sam Aunai, 
Earl Ellis, David Clark, John and Jeff Tinsley, Mark and Brian Jenkins, and 
Robert Shaffer. Visitation will be Friday at 10:00 a.m., at the church.
