Lt. Col. Floyd E. Cooper Jr. USAF (ret) Funeral services for Floyd Cooper, 68, of Indian Point, Missouri were held at the Stumpff Funeral Home in Kimberling City, Missouri, February 19, 2006. Interment at a later date. Mr. Cooper died Wednesday, February 15, 2006, at his residence of a heart attack due to complications of cancer treatment. Floyd Cooper was raised in Bakersfield, CA and was an Air Force retiree who served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and served three tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force, Floyd became a restaurateur in Seward, Nebraska. After moving to the Branson area in the late 1980s he became a local real estate appraiser. He served as a Trustee for the Village of Indian Point and was formerly a member of the Southern Stone County Fire District as both a first responder and volunteer fireman. Mr. Cooper was a former Rotarian with the Kimberling City club. He was a well known leader in his community and was well beloved by his family and friends. He will be best remembered for his warm bear hugs. Mr. Cooper is survived by his mother, Avis Cooper (Bakersfield, CA); wife, Janet Cooper (Indian Point, MO); sister, Sherrill Cooper Hollar and husband, Mike (Humarock, MA); daughter, Cassy Krueger and husband, Larry (Kansas City, MO); son, Chris Cooper and wife, Tammy (Branson West, MO); daughter, Cindy Hyde and husband, Chris (Nixa, MO); and 5 grandchildren, Nicole Krueger (Kansas City, MO), Rachael Krueger (Bolivar, MO), Daniele Krueger (Kansas City, MO), Britni Hyde (Nixa, MO) and Austin Hyde (Nixa, MO).
