Harris Services: Mon., Oct. 17, 10:00 a.m. A graveside service is planned for Sharon L. Harris, age 58, on Monday October 17, 2005, at 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, in Bakersfield. Sharon left us suddenly on October 11, 2005 exactly thirty days after the passing of our mother. Sharon was born Sharon Louise Cosper on October 31, 1946 in Pennsylvania, the first born of Floyd A. and Blanche L. Cosper. Her family moved to Bakersfield in 1956 where she spent the remainder of her life. She graduated from Foothill High School in 1965 and married Vernon Harris on July 7, 1974. Sharons life is one to be remembered by her kind, giving heart and her gentle spirit. She was pure and loving in all her thoughts and actions. Her first thoughts were of others always before herself. She would give a stranger the shirt off her back and she literally did that probably on numerous occasions. Her concerns were not those of worldly things but of the rewards she would someday reap in the presence of her heavenly father. She was a simple person with simple needs and always managed a smile and a Have a good day to all she encountered. Her love of family was totally unselfish and all encompassing. She was childlike in many ways and loved as one would love a child by many. She was a peacemaker and always wanted those around her to Love One Another. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Blanche and her husband Vernon. She is survived by her sister, Susan J. Cosper; brother, James A. Cosper and wife, Kim; niece, Jessica and nephew, Jake. Sharons very special friends Sharon Mulholland and June Price will always be family to us. God took one of his own and we rejoice that she has joined her parents in her new heavenly home. Sharons passing will leave behind many family and friends that will miss her smile, her kindness and her gentleness. Published in the Bakersfield Californian on 10/15/2005.
