He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joaquin H. Cadena and Ray D. Mize. He is survived by his parents Jake Cadena and Julia Mize; paternal grandmother, Mary Cadena; maternal grandmother, Mary Mize; brother and sister-in-law Jacob and Amy Cadena; Cherie Cadena of Bakersfield, Jake Cadena of West Virginia, Rick and wife Karen Hansen of Calgary, Canada; sister and brother-in-law Lorraine and Peder Byrgensen, Aaron Hansen of Alberta, Canada; uncles Jeff Mize, Robert Embry, Eddie and Cyndi Culver, Andy and Cindy Cadena, Ed and June Cadena, Gilbert and Pat Cadena, and Oscar Cadena; aunts Jennifer and Jim Bills, Rebecca Beck, Bertha and Vince Tafoya, Hope and Joe Silva, Linda and Manuel Negron; special nieces, Mackenzie and Alaini Cadena, Alisha Hansen, Ashley Hansen, Lauren Hansen and Melissa; nephew Kyle Byregensen; numerous cousins Dina Harris, Bobbye and Joshua Embry, Patrick and Sabrina, Stefanie, Joseph, Jason, Stacey, Denise McNevin, Liz Ward, Jeanette Benavente, Cora Cadena and numerous others. Joseph will be remembered for seeing the world for all that it could be. In his friends, his family, and his aspirations there were no limits to his vision. His energy and strong familial sense guided him through his path in life. Joseph was a tireless advocate for his family and selflessly provided care for his father during recent illnesses. Joseph was one of those shining stars, those Novas that you meet once in a lifetime and we are all saddened to see that brightness dimmed. We will miss his smile and his charming personality. We find comfort in knowing that he is at peace and at home with our Lord. Casketbearers will be Jeff Mize, Jacob Cadena, Jake Cadena, Ed Cadena, Peder Byrgensen, and Lawrence Cadena.
