She has been a Kern County resident for 44 years. She raised four children and always had time for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. To her grandchildren she was a cool and fun grandma and they meant the world to her. She was always funny and we all knew we were loved even when times were hard. As her sons were growing up she loved to go watch them play baseball at J.B.A. She was very proud of her Mexican/Yaqui heritage, so much, that she taught children of all ages including her own grandchildren to make dream catchers and other Native American crafts. She had been a volunteer giving her time to St. Phillips church. She touched everyone she knew with her humorous fun loving smile and affectionate ways. She also leaves behind numerous friends at her apartment complex where she lived that were very dear to her. She is survived by her brother John Carmona and wife Mary, their children Johnny, Jerry, Jeff, Jim, Jill and Jesse and numerous nieces and nephews all of Indio, CA. She is also survived by her daughters and sons-in-law; Bobbie and Carlos Papion; Jacqueline and Jack Ritchason; sons Darrell Carriere; Mark and Sarah Carriere; grandchildren: Christopher, Renee and Michael Papion, Michelle Carriere, Tess Ritchason, Gabriel Escalera, Amanda Hefty, Candace Carriere, Kristen and Lynda Ozuna; great grandchildren: Ryan (G-G Baby) Papion, Christian, Vanessa and Nicholas Barron, Anthony Gabriel and Cecelia Hefty. Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Viewing will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm with a Rosary to follow at Hillcrest Mortuary. Our family would like to give special thanks to our sister Jackie and her husband Jack for always going the extra mile to make Moms life more comfortable. She so enjoyed going on all those vacations with you. Pallbearers will be John Carmona, Jack Ritchason, Mark Carriere, Darrel Carriere, Carlos Papion, Christopher Papion, and Michael Papion.
