Jim Cherry, Chaplain of the Kern County Associated Veterans will officiate. Mr. Carter was born March 24, 1936 in Elk City, Oklahoma and had been a resident of Kern County for 68 years. He was a Mechanic for 15 years for the City of Bakersfield and a Veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1000, I.F.A. of Bakersfield - Chapter #8, California State Sheriffs Association and a former member of the Bakersfield Elks Lodge #266. Survivors include his wife- Mollie; sons and daughters-in- law, Robin L. And Yvonne Carter, Steven and Linda Carter of Bakersfield and Stanley and Ronda Carter of Ducor; daughter, Sonya Carter of Bakersfield; sister, Mickey Ridge of Shafter; twelve grandchildren & three great- grandchildren.
