Bud passed away August 29, 2005, after a brief illness. At an early age his family moved to the Lebec area. His elementary years were spent at Pershing School. In high school he rode the bus daily to K.C.U.H.S. where he graduated in 1939. He attended Bakersfield College where he was enrolled in the pilot training program. He enjoyed doing touch-and-goes off the Panorama bluffs. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942. In 1943 Bud married his high school sweetheart, Marie Yeary. They spent 57 loving years together. He retired in 1981 after 40 years with Richfield/ARCO. He was a most loving and caring dad to his three children and the family enjoyed many boating and camping vacations together. Bud is preceded in death by his wife, Marie. He is survived by daughter, Claudia Robison and Bob; sons and their wives, Craig and Lisa Carter, Mark and Erin Carter; loving grandchildren and spouses, Brant and Maren Robison, Becky and Sean Keenan, Ryan Robison, Kimberly and Courtney Carter, Colleen and Adam Dawson, Katie and Paddrick Young and Christian Carter; great-granddaughters, Kylie and Lauren Robison and soon to arrive Rory Keenan; also survived by his brother and wife, Bill and Jean Carter and his sister, Ovanda Ziegler. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Visitation begins Wednesday, August 31st, from 5-9 p.m., at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd. A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 1st, 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd.
