In Loving Memory 
Danny Chavez 
December 31, 1998 - August 6, 2004 

Today marks a year, 365 days since I last held you in my arms. For me, Danny, 
it seems as if it were yesterday. I often ask myself, Is it true? Did it 
really happen? People may think I am crazy but to me, Danny, you live, your 
spirit lives. I know it because I feel it! Your beautiful smile, your 
mischievous giggle, your great laugh lives, Danny, in my heart, forever. My 
image of you is always smiling and having a good time with your brothers. Alex 
misses you a lot. He is very sad his best friend isn't here to play cops and 
robbers anymore. He sometimes pretends you are a white butterfly and chases 
you all over the backyard. Joshua is almost done with his treatment. It has 
been a nightmare but God has been merciful. He has carried us both through 
this journey. The Lord has never left our side. As for your dad and I, all I 
can say is there is a huge hole in our hearts. A big part of us died the day 
you went to Heaven. Danny, thank you for being our son! Your life was short 
but very meaningful. I am honored to be your mother. I think of you everyday. 
I often replay all the happy and sad memories. I usually start crying but 
before I even realize it, I am laughing at something you either did or said. I 
miss you terribly!!! I can still feel the softness of your skin. I can feel 
your hugs. I find myself lost, lost in the love I have for you. Danny, you 
will live always in my heart! I love you forever, as long as I'm living my 
baby you'll be.
