Pastor Jayne Simon of Hospice Partners of the Central Coast will officiate. Jane was born in Moody, Missouri, January 26, 1926. She grew up in Paso Robles, CA and married Hank Kenny who preceded her in death in 1979. She worked at Avenal Community Hospital and was involved with Avenal Elementary School PTA and various other school functions. She was a very involved mother in Avenal Little League. After moving to Bakersfield, she worked at Memorial, San Joaquin and eventually retired from Good Samaritan Hospital. Her life was about her belief in the Lord and about her family, whom she loved unconditionally. She was always there to listen without judging and she always was willing to help anyone in need. In her later years, she loved being around her great-grandchildren, whom she called my Little Toodlebugs. They nicknamed her Grandma Boo because she played a peek-a-boo with them from the time they were born. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rose Collins; brother, Buster Collins and brother, Ray Collins. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Bob Edwards of Paso Robles; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Audrey Kenny; grandson, Mike Kenny and wife, Laura; granddaughter, Michelle ODonnell; four great-grandchildren, Aden and Aaron Andreason, Cade Kenny and Skylar Ann ODonnell. She also leaves to cherish her memory, niece, Debra Tidd and family; niece, Maureen Malone and family; niece, Patti Wade and family; nephew, Jerry Collins and family; nephew, Tom Collins and wife, Bonnie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Beverly Manor who made her final days the best that they could be. Also, a special thank you to Diane Lewis, Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor from Career Resource Department, for the special care her students provide to the residents at Beverly Manor, and especially to David Craven for his loving care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Beverly Manor Healthcare Activities Dept., 3601 San Dimas Street, Bakersfield, CA 93301, or to Hospice Partners of the Central Coast, 277 South St., Suite R, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
