Velva was born on January 22, 1945, in Klamath Falls, Oregon to John and Elsie Cook. She married Brad Majors on November 5, 1964. Her life encompassed many roles, including loving wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, businesswoman, and hobbyist. Her biggest passion was life itself. This included family, extended family, friends, and even the person behind the register. No matter how you felt, with Velva in your presence, you could not help but smile and feel the joy of life. In business she managed the racing team for American Honda, and was a marketing manager at Mattel, Inc. It was her career managing medical offices that brought her to teaching at Tarrant County Community College. It was the passing on of knowledge that became her second passion. Velva was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Cook and daughter, Angela René. She is survived by her father, John Cook; brother, Victor; husband, Brad; sons, Brady and Bryan; and her three grandsons, Christopher, Justin, Nathan. In her short time with us, Velva touched the lives of many with her compassionate, joyous nature, and willingness to befriend all. She is loved and will be missed. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Velvas name to UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation, Box 951780, Factor BLDG., Room 8-950, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1780.
