Pastor Fred Fies and the Kern County Veterans Association will officiate. Just like a hero, my grandpa had a humble beginning. He was born to two farmers, Julia and John Danzeisen in Canada making a family of 10 and one more later to come. He moved to the states in 1936. Disputing what the sound the letter "A" makes, with school teachers, he acquired his GED in Minnesota at the young age of 16. He joined the U. S. Army due to a broken heart. While serving 23 years making the rank as high as Master Sergeant he participated in 2 wars and even fought the battle of "Heart Break Ridge" in an armor division. He also did three tours in Germany. On January 20, 1960, his heart was later mended by a beautiful woman named Loucetta Harrison and her two children Frank and Betty. Again he went above and beyond the call of duty. This time it was as a loving husband, a kind stepfather and a prolific grandfather. His legacy and values will live on through his family and friends. He was truly a great man and will very much be missed. Visitation will be Monday, 12:00 - 9:00 p. m.
