Dr. Harry Virgil Douglas, DMD 
June 11, 1910 - Sept. 20, 2005 

Harry Virgil Douglas Jr. was born on June 11, 1910 in Bakersfield, CA, the son 
of Harry and Carolyn Douglas. He attended Kern county High School and the 
University of Oregon Medical Dental School. He practiced dentistry for over 40 
years in Bakersfield. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during WWII. 
Harry was married to Virginia L. Pierson in 1937. Harry passed away at age 95, 
on September 20, 2005. Harry was a long-standing member of the A.D.A. and the 
Kern County Dental Society. Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife 
Virginia in 1992. He is survived by his children; son, Barry P. Douglas & wife 
Betty of Bakersfield, CA and daughters Carolyn Newton of Orange, CA and Judy 
Bloom of Newcastle, CA. Sister Geraldine Prestine of Bel Air, CA, and his 
loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to express 
special thanks to his loving caregiver Jannette Silvia. In lieu of flowers, 
donations in his memory can be made to the American Heart Association, Cancer 
Society or March of Dimes. A graveside service will be held Saturday, 
September 24, 2005 at 12 noon, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Bakersfield, CA
