Lorraine Strew Driver

Sept. 17, 1924 – Jan. 2, 2006

Lorraine S. Driver, 81, passed away on Jan. 2, 2006 in a Bakersfield hospital 
with her children around her. We love you Mom.

Lorraine was born on Sept. 17, 1924 in Yakima, Wash. to Mabel and Niles Strew, 
joining brothers Stanley and Lester and sister Betty. She grew up in Yakima 
and was Apple Blossom Princess in her teens. She married Jack Driver in 1944 
and they had four children. Lorraine enjoyed fishing and camping but her 
passion was golf. After her divorce, she travelled from California to Alaska, 
settling in in Anchorage to spend time with her son and his family. After a 
few years, she hit the road again, heading to Washington to spend time with 
her daughter, Christy, went on to Kansas City, back again to California with 
her daughters, Jacki and Sandy, then finally settling in Tehachapi.

Lorraine is survived by her son, Raymond Scott Driver; daughters, Linda 
Christine Driver, Jacki Luann Driver and Sandra Rae Labbee; grandchildren, 
Katherine, Dominique and Annmarie Driver, and Sean Labbee and Stephanie Labbee-
Johnson; great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Dylan, Devon, Georgia, Dustin, LaVail, 
Jakel, Isaiah, Alicia, Sophia, Olivia and Elijah; brother, Stanely Strew; 
sister, Beatrice Hartley; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased 
by her brother, Lester Strew. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the 
cremation arrangements.
