A visitation is also scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, 2005, from 6 8 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary. Helen graduated as valedictorian from Nursing School at the age of 18 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She joined the army, and was Captain in the U.S. Army Corp. On December 23, 1943, she married Howard Dalby, and 3 days later was sent to India. She also served in the original Persian Gulf Command and in the Italian Campaign until the end of WWII. Helen retired as an industrial nurse at Pacific Southern Foundry. Helen loved her grandchildren, gardening, and her roses. In her spare time she loved to play bingo. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years. Helens family includes her brother, Joe Sprenger; son, Kenneth Dalby and wife, Diane, and their children, Christy and husband, Daniel Williams, Robert, and Brian; daughter, Susan Alexander, and her children, Julie and husband, Stephen Fanucchi, and Mike and wife, Melissa Alexander; great grandchildren, Taylor Williams and Tyler Alexander.
